Originally set up in 1982 and played at Western
Park. Monday night training started in 1985 at
Saffron Lane stadium. In 1992 we set up the
second team Bedouins Hobos with players from
disbanded Emgas team. We had to find another
pitch and played all over the place until we were
able to secure saturday slots and training nights
at St Margaret Pastures. In 1995 with so many
players and Charles Keene Wyvern having folded
we formed third team Bedouins Camels and
continued to play all three teams at St Mags.
In 2002 we became Mountsorrel Bedouins and
moved to playand train at Mountsorrel Leisure
centre. With lenghthy negotiations from Colin
Baines, John Woodcock and the parish council
we were eventually able to take on part use of
the Cricket clubhouse for 'after hockey'
socialising and other social events. We have
close connections with Charnwood Ladies hockey
club and in 2008 agreed to alternate training
nights with them and now train on alternate
Monday and Tuesday nights.
We currently have teams in division 1,2 and 4.
